i've been on and on with checking my battery health and i chrcked last night that my battery was well on 98 percent. also around afternoon i check, 98! but it hit midnight and now it 88? i dont use it while charging, i dont overcharge it, barely any widgets so whats the reason for this? i barely put this in warm surfaces either. please help 🥹🥹

How long has it been since the phone was new? That sounds like the battery is failing or has failed. When you go to Settings/Battery/Battery Health… what does it say under Peak Performance Capability? Does it say battery is degraded there?
Are you possibly confusing battery percentage with Battery Health / Maximum Capacity?
You can see the battery percentage at the upper right corner of the screen.
You can see Maximum Capacity as follows: Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Maximum Capacity

If it is an XR it can’t be new, as they were discontinued 2 1/2 years ago. If it has been sitting on a shelf for that (or longer) the battery probably is degraded.

That is what can be expected for the iPhone XR. It was manufactured between 9/2018 and 9/2021. The degradation of the battery will happen over time.

When did you buy the phone?
Did you think the phone was new when you bought it?
If you have an iPhone 11.......it is NOT new. A Max Capacity number of 88% on an iPhone 11 tells me that the phone is likely 18-24 months old.

A Max Capacity of 88% would be normal for a phone that is a couple of years old, maybe older.
