Where do I download DEVICE SUPPORT UPDATE for iOS for my Mac Pro with El Capitan?

I get a message needs software but the download never finishes:is not available! Then: iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission. Before the last iPhone 12 update I could always transfer my music with iTunes to my iPhone 12! My Mac is not able to upgrade to a newer system. Please help. Thank you.

did you get a new message that you needed software update? did it try to download again?

is you phone now visible in iTunes?

Device not visible, I only get iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission.

I restarted 3 times: Each time I get the same ordeal! Installing, failed, software not currently available from the server!! Thanks for your help.

Installing the requested software in Safe Mode results in the same: "software not currently available from the server!"

I restarted and put in:nvram IASUCatalogURL

I get: Error getting variable
