Books keeps data

When I delete an EPUB (from both books and files) the information about where I got up to, where I placed bookmarks and highlights remains on the device, and if I re-download the book it appears as I left it. I want the book to be a clean slate each time I read it. How do I ensure my reading data is deleted with the download?

One suggestion on this website was: press and hold the book image, and use menu to delete. Disappearing Books All my books that I had downloaded through Dropbox have disappeared in My Library. I have already deleted them out of Dropbox once they loaded to Books. Is there anything I can do to get them back?
