Message icon disappeared on my iPhone 14

Check to see if the Messages app icon got moved to a different screen or folder. Try searching for it using the Spotlight search or check all your app screens. If it's still missing, you can reset your home screen layout in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout…

I have this same issue, my message app is in the library, but I can’t hold the icon to get the “add to Home Screen” option to appear.

I am thinking this is an update issue? I am going to use your suggestion.

This had happened to me also. I rebooted the phone and it reappeared.
