Discrepancy in Warranty Expiry Date on iPhone activation

Discrepancy in Warranty Expiry Date on iPhone activation

I recently purchased a new iPhone 14 (on January 7) and proceeded to activate it. To verify its status, I navigated to Settings > General > About > Warranty and observed that the warranty expiry date is listed as June 29, 2024. However, upon checking the same on the Apple coverage website (https://checkcoverage.apple.com/) today (January 7, 2024), a different date is displayed (January 7, 2025).

I would like to bring to your attention that I purchased the iPhone from a local store in my city, which assures customers that they are selling brand-new iPhones. Could you kindly investigate and clarify the reason for this date discrepancy? I want to ensure that the device has not been used or activated prior to my purchase

If the store isn't an Apple authorized dealership then the warranty started on the date they purchased the device from Apple, even if it has never been used before.
