macbook air m2 mouse problem

Courser is clicking very oddly. It is functioning very slowly and often many multiple times clicks are necessary before the "click" will actually work/select. Plus, Emojis will no longer insert no matter what software program I am using. Messages, Email, Notes etc. The Character Plate will open, but can insert any selected Emoji. Believe these two issue is related. Any suggestions? Perhaps a Library file that can be deleted and rebuilt?

Double click on mouse does not select/highlight the word under cursor A few days ago I noticed that double clicking the mouse does not highlight/select the word under the cursor anymore. I can select it with a single right click, but that of course also opens the context menu which I don't want. On the touchpad everything works just fine though. I have no idea what could have cause this behaviour. Since I use a Logitech unifying wireless mouse (M705) I thought it might have been caused by some mouse SW, but the problem still occurs with a 'normal' wired mouse. Booting the macBook into safe-mode did not help either. Problem already existed before updating yesterday from 13.1 to 13.2 2017 MacBook Pro 15" Retina, macOS Ventura 13.2 (18614.4.6.1.5) Any ideas someone?

Cursor nonsense on MacBook Air M2 2022 The cursor often does not turn into the "finger" when hovering hyperlinks. Also, the cursor often does not work to open messages from Messages or mail in MacMail. So frustrating. The only thing that seems to work is performing a hard reboot and starting over.
