Scam popup on iPhone

I clicked on google to search for a recipe and all of a sudden a pop-up appeared with sound saying that my pc ip address has been compromised and that I should all 877-559-*** immediately. I called and they answered 'microsoft....' i held on for a few minutes then hung up. I was afraid it was some sort of scam. The pop-up said not to shut down or turn off pc, I didn't listen. But am really confused if something is really wrong with my ip address. Is it compromised?

That is a scam. Please refer to Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams

There is likely nothing at wrong with your computer. If you want, you can use EtreCheck and post the report and we can look to see if there is anything wrong with the computer.

As rkaufmann87 has already mentioned, this is a scam. The 877 phone number is from a mobile phone, and may not even have originated from there.

Apple NEVER sends these popups. Microsoft does not either.

The IP address that they are mentioning may not even be the one that is provided to you by your ISP and is just another scare tactic to get you to react. NEVER call or respond to these types of messages.

If you are concerned about your ISP-provided IP address, you should contact your Internet provider for assistance.
