is anybody else having issues with texting on IOS

When you try to move the cursor up to correct an error in long text messages it highlights words and doesn’t position in gaps (see examples I am trying to place the cursor in between Micro and Starts). It is so annoying, and when you gab at the screen to try and find the gap as gentle placement doesn’t work, the microphone starts recording what you are saying and fills the text with your speech.

Also, when you are playing a game on an app, the “slide up” for Home Screen symbol/bar remains at the bottom of the screen so you often get kicked out of the game and into a Home Screen whilst playing it and therefore loose points etc. It is so annoying.

Who the **** designed and signed off on this interface?

Yes! This is happening to me since upgrading and it is infuriating. It makes comparing a text so difficult that I have to go into Notes to compose a text! It is near impossible to correct typos or insert words into a text (or even this post!). I don’t know how Apple thought it was better to highlight a word instead of gently placing the cursor where I want it, but I get this problem trying to place the cursor at the end of a block of text as well. Rather than simply place the cursor at the end, it highlights the last word. I find that I have to retype the last word as I can’t get the cursor to simply exist at the end of the line.

Apple: please revert to how it used to work, where tapping a location simply places the cursor there, whereas a double tap highlights the word. Give the control back to the user, please!
