I would like to change the system setting menu's appearance back to just icons. I do not like the new menu which has everything listed on the side, similar to how it looks like on my phone and iPad. This is a purely aesthetic preference, but I would really appreciate it if I can change it back. I am using a Macbook Air 2020, with Ventura 13.1.

Sorry, but the old System Preferences does not exist anymore. Starting in Ventura, it mirrors the iPhone/iPad "Settings" appearance.
I waited a year on my company Mac (where I spend most of my time) running Monterey so that I could keep System Preferences (all icons). But on my personal Mac I upgraded to Ventura, so I could slowly get used to the new System Settings.
Over the holidays, I upgraded my company Mac to Sonoma, and now I have System Settings everywhere.
I use the System Settings "Search" box a lot to find things that I used to know where they were, but are now somewhere else.
Anyway, you cannot go back, so start using the "Search" box and get used to your desktop iPad/iPhone.
