Missing Game Data

I’ve been playing The Oregon Trail for years now, and I had quite a few hours put into my game data. When it was put on Apple Arcade, I’d play it when I could (like when I had a free trial) and my game data would always come back.

I went to go play it yesterday as I had an active arcade membership, and it completely restarted everything and does not recognize my account. Is this gone forever now? Why am I paying for iCloud storage if you can’t even keep game data safe? Seriously not happy.
