Message stating credit card expired when actual expiration date is year away

At the end of December I got an error message stating there was a problem with my payment method in the App Store. I checked and it said my credit card on file had passed it's expiration date. The card on file isn't due to expire until 2028. I've looked at a lot of the "solutions" listed on this forum that suggested removing the card from the Wallet and turning off Apple Pay. Doesn't work. What's going on here Apple?? Can't we get this fixed?? I'm about to have subscriptions expire.
