On my account settings for apple pay my debit card said expired but is not I think is a mistake on the due date, but is not letting me do any changes and when I try to delete it I cant because I have a subscription that need a card on file.
You’ll need to add another payment method (temporarily), delete your current payment method, restart your iPhone, add payment method again using a 4 digit number for expiration date.
