Connecting to an HDMI device - Audio Separation

I am connecting my iPhone to a display device via an HDMI adapter. Is there a way to separate the video and audio so the audio goes to the Bluetooth device and not on the HDMI connection?

i pad pro audio video connectivity I would like to connect my iPad pro to a computer monitor via hdmi cable. Unfortunately, the monitor does not have speakers. It does have a place to connect headphones. Q1. Can I get bluetooth audio to match the video my iPad is playing on the monitor? Q 2. Can I use the headphone jack to provide audio signal to powered speakers? Again, the audio needs to match the sounds associated with whatever I'm playing on the monitor. How can I split Audio and Video on Apple TV 4K? This is an older thread, but with the newer Apple TV 4K, there is a way to split the audio and video from an iPad. On the Apple TV (ATV) to go setting and bluetooth. Connect your bluetooth speaker. Then you can share your iPad to the ATV, the video will go to the screen and the audio will go to the setup bluetooth device. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
