Total AV for iPhone

Has anyone else heard about this Total AV protection for the iPhone?

Anti-malware is blocked from scanning iPhone storage by the app store policies and by the built-in anti-malware.


The add-on anti-malware can insinuate itself into the network traffic and collect network metadata, though.


I’d be cautious about add-ons and scanning traffic and privacy. One of the better-known add-on anti-malware packages for macOS was caught collecting and selling that collected network data, including personally-identified online purchase activity.


Similarly, add-on VPN apps are also perfectly placed to collect personally-identified metadata, while badly solving a problem that really hasn’t existed for a decade or so.


Malware does exist for iPhone, but it’s been targeted based on all available evidence. If you’re a potential target for that, review your security thoroughly, and consider enabling Lockdown Mode. Apple has maintained and kept the built-in anti-malware XProtect updated, and that can scan storage,
