Old iPhone 4 crashing

Hi - I have an old iPhone 4 I am using as a Bluetooth receiver to log data to the cloud. It has worked well like the for the past five years or so but has recently started crashing. Even opening settings will crash the phone (Apple logo and re-start).

I think the problem is that it is out of memory. It is a 5.3GB phone and the Operating system is about 5Gb. I have turned off anything I can (music, photos, podcasts, videos etc). Is there any way I can load a more streamlined OS or de-bloat the current one?
