FaceTime on Apple TV - Continuity microphone disconnecting

I am using an Apple TV 4K 2nd gen, tvOS 17.2 with iPhone 13 mini, iOS 17.2.1.

When I open the FaceTime app on Apple TV, I can connect to my iPhone using continuity camera with no issue. The iPhone is set up in landscape mode, stationary within 2-3 ft of the Apple TV. All appears well until I initiate, or receive, a FaceTime call on the Apple TV, at which point a message indicating that the continuity microphone has disconnected pops up repeatedly. The caller can see but not hear me, until I move the call off the Apple TV and onto the iPhone. I have not encountered this issue with my iPad Air. Any suggestions?
