Removing background from iPhone photos

When adding information to a group or portrait photo the image has a moving white line around


Why is this and can I remove the background

You can copy the area, that is circled by the white outline and paste it onto a note or into another document. The circled subject will have a transparent background. You can also save it a sticker, and use it, wherever you want to use a sticker. Just tap the somewhere inside the moving white border to bring up a menu with action, like copy, save sticker, etc.

I forgot to mention - with iOS 17 you can use the saved sticker to add the cut out section directly to a different photo in Photos.


So I could move the red panda from China to Alaska.
