network access when waking from sleep

Hello there, I have a MacStudio M1 Ultra running Sonoma. For some reason, for the past few days, when my computer wakes in the morning Mail won't retrieve or send, Music won't access my music, safari won't allow a search. I have to restart to get things moving. This is definitely a new thing....my computer is usually always on and when I return to it, day or night, I just pick up where I left off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. RJ

The latest macOS versions are having various issues with automatic sleep mode.

Some system crash and force a restart, others freeze up and are unresponsive.

As a test:

Turn on "Prevent automatic sleeping when display is off" and only allowing the display to turn off.

Then just leave on with display off or shut down for longer times of non-use.
