When I open WhatsApp on my iPhone, it opens my last chat instead of WhatsApp Home Screen.

My problem is a bit hard to explain so please bear with me!

I just got an iPhone 14 plus few days ago and all is fine except a small issue in WhatsApp.

So here the issue, so for instance i am in a chat with my friend, now when i close the app (swipe up) and relaunch it, it directly goes to the chat instead of going to 'WhatsApp home screen'. by 'WhatsApp home screen', i mean the the screen where all the chats are visible. Is this a standard thing on iOS? This wasn't the case on android. On android once i closed the app and launched it again later, first it would go to the screen where all the chats are shown and then i can select a specific chat to open it.
