Need help updating an iPhone 8 Plus to ios17

Whether you use beta or a regular version of iOS 17, it can not be installed on an iPhone 8.

You cannot run Beta iOS 17 on an iPhone 8 or for that matter ANY version of iOS 17 on an iPhone 8. iPhone 8 is now too old to be updated past iOS 16. Sorry. The watch you purchased came with WatchOS 10, and until your daughter owns an iPhone capable of running iOS 17, the watch cannot be paired with it.

No, as already stated several times, an iPhone 8 cannot run iOS 17.

The iPhone 8 doesn’t meet the minimum hardware requirements for iOS 17 to be compatible with it. You must upgrade to a newer iPhone in order to receive iOS 17.

You can watch YouTube videos which claim the earth is flat too. Not everything you watch is factual. Good idea to stop trying to load iOS 17 (any version) on an iPhone which cannot run it at all.

If the iPhone 8 doesn’t have the required hardware to run iOS 17, then it will never run iOS 17.

NOPE. Not on an iPhone 8 there isn't. It is simply NOT possible to update an iPhone 8 to iOS 17. Not using any computer, Mac or PC. iPhone 8 simply doesn't have the hardware required to run iOS 17.

Guess you'll just have to save your money until you can afford a newer model iPhone, which can run at least iOS 17. In the meantime, if either of your parents own an iPhone which is running iOS 17, they can pair your watch to their phone for you to use. Forget about Beta, that's a preview, not a finished version.

The iPhone 8 Plus cannot run iOS 17.

If you want to run iOS 17, you will need an iPhone XR or higher model.
