Apps move around or disappear

My apps, which l have had for a number of years, move around or disappear without my intercession. Apps turn up without my request. This has just started in the past 6 months. This is very annoying as I have got used to finding things in place. “Losing”my “where’s my iPhone” app from its place was quite a panic.

can you please keep your sticky little fingers out of my phone, it is not to my benefit

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

Thanks for the information about apps disappearing, no my “unused apps setting is off”. There are several other unused apps that remain untouched.

it seems that this apps movement started to occur when the field at the end of the apps started to become occupied with groupings of apps. Say games, business etc. Sometimes the app was duplicated from the main fields but somewhat randomly the app would be moved from the location in the main field and put into the new grouping. Unfortunately, a “search” will take you to the app, but not tell you where it is or whether it has been deleted, so it gets a little frustrating to find it again when I exit the app. As for my password having been compromised, I would have thought that moving apps around would have been small fry?

Hi! I can see the problem that you’re having right now. Here are some ways to fix it.

First, you might want to see if you have Offload Unused Apps turned on. To do this, go to Settings > Scroll down then find App Store > Then scroll down again and find the switch for Offload Unused Apps. If it’s on, then turn it off. Another thing you can do is make sure you’re updated to the latest Version of iOS. It seems you’re right now on iOS 12, so try to install the latest version. If those didn’t work, then please let me know.

Done everything that you suggest

Well, I have spoken to other iPhone users offline and find that apps are randomly moved to “organize them”.

As for removing unused apps, the switch is off and they remain on screen. Although those that are “moved” into “organizational” areas are the ones that often disappear.

The apps movement seems to occur/linked to IOS updates.

I find the Forum is populated with people asking the same questions. Never seems to be many solutions only questions. Really needs help from people who know what they are doing

Hello~ Sometimes fraudsters start off making small purchases when they have breached your payment method as well to see what they can get by with. Change your password just in case and see what happens. Also take a look clicking on below…
