AirPods 2nd Generation High-Pitched Ringing in Both Ears

When I put in my AirPods and play music or sounds in general, both Airpods ring a loud high-pitched sound. They don't look damaged, have not been in water, and I've only had them since December. I've reset them two times to no avail, cleaned them and made sure the mesh was not protruding. They're still ringing. Any help? I really don't want to buy another pair.
