Using Time Capsule as backup drive only, not for wireless network
I followed the directions on this old post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251735664?answerId=253333457022&sortBy=best#253333457022 because I was in a very similar situation. I received a new modem and router from my provider and wanted to use my Time Capsule for my Time Machine backup only---not to create a wireless network. Bob Timmons did a great job explaining how to "reset" the Time Capsule so that I could turn off its own wireless network. I successfully backed up to the Time Capsule when it was plugged into the router with the ethernet cable.
My question is whether the Time Capsule has to remain attached with the ethernet cable or can it now be plugged into a different location and JUST rely on wifi and not ethernet?
