Using Time Capsule as backup drive only, not for wireless network

I followed the directions on this old post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251735664?answerId=253333457022&sortBy=best#253333457022 because I was in a very similar situation. I received a new modem and router from my provider and wanted to use my Time Capsule for my Time Machine backup only---not to create a wireless network. Bob Timmons did a great job explaining how to "reset" the Time Capsule so that I could turn off its own wireless network. I successfully backed up to the Time Capsule when it was plugged into the router with the ethernet cable.

My question is whether the Time Capsule has to remain attached with the ethernet cable or can it now be plugged into a different location and JUST rely on wifi and not ethernet?

What settings do I need to change in order to unplug the ethernet cord from the Time Capsule and have it access my new wireless network via wifi only? My Mac can connect to the Time Capsule over the wireless network, but it's still connected to the router via ethernet. Is that ethernet connection to the router mandatory or is there a way to have the TC connect to the router wirelessly?

I hope this makes sense. I would just like the option to move the Time Capsule to a different location in my house. . . but those locations wouldn't be close to the router and therefore would not be able to connect via the ethernet cable. Does the Time Capsule HAVE to be connected to the router/pod via ethernet in order for it to be accessible over my wifi network? I tried unplugging the ethernet cable, but it immediately was disconnected within Airport Utility and therefore Time Machine couldn't access it either.

I couldn't figure out what Time Capsule setting (within Airport Utility) needed adjusted to connect the Time Capsule to my separate wireless network so that it didn't have to rely on the ethernet cord from the router to the TC.
