Using Continuity Markup to annotate a PDF a second time causes the annotations to be lost

Hello,

I can use continuity markup to markup a PDF as intended with an iPad Pro 2018, shared by a MacBook Pro M1. However, if I go back and try to markup a PDF for a second time (i.e., wanting to add further annotations), all of my previous annotations are lost. I found the same issue in this thread:

No solution was posted.

Is this the intended behavior? (seems unlikely as it is very frustrating). If not, how do I fix it?

Still doesn't work. iPadOS 17.2, macOS 13.6.3. (Sonoma no good for me until Pro Tools supports it…)

I think I ended up speaking to Apple – still had AppleCare on the iPad. It was escalated as I think the agent managed to recreate. Never heard anything back.

Not wasted any more time on it for over a year: use PDF Expert instead…
