Apple TV movie downloads are very slow and failing at end of download. How do I correct this?

I am using a iPad to stream Apple TV and I would like to down load a movie to my iPad. I have had one successful down load of a limited series episode. But I have several unsuccessful download attempts since. They appear to progressing through the download very slowly but fail at the end. no error just doesn't download.

Video files can be big. Verify that your iPad had enough free space for these downloads.
Else the network link might get lost if that connection isn’t strong or has interference.
Try a device restart, as that may load all the software freshly for better behavior.
