Lock the iPad icons so they can't accidentally be moved

I have an elderly relative with an iPad and also an unsteady hand. I need someway of locking the icons so they can't be made to jiggle and then accidently moved or deleted. Is there a system setting that prevents this.

I appreciate any help in advance.

iPad 2, iOS 9

To my knowledge, you can prevent the icons from being "deleted" by going to:

Settings>ScreenTime>Content&Privacy Restrictions>Itunes&AppStore Purchases... the second option must be set to "Don't Allow". When done, restart your iPad.

Unfortunately, as far as preventing the icons from "moving" (when pressed for more than 1-2 second), I don't think there is any available options.

I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly and ask them, using this link:--> Contact Apple for support and service , or sumbit your request to Apple using this form:--> Feedback - iPad - Apple

Thanks for the advice Giulio. I wasn't aware of your suggestions, but I have opted for the following.

The new IOS 17 comes with a new accessibility feature called Assistive Access, which allows more prominent icons and more control over how icons can be used. It also turns off the jiggle icon feature. I've activated the feature, and I am currently testing it. It might be just what an elderly lady needs for trouble-free Ipadding. Only time will tell.

Thanks again Chris

Hey Sue, I activated Assistive Access for Mum about a month ago. When activated using a simple PIN code, it locks the phone in a super-friendly mode. You can then decide which apps you wish the user to access, and they all display with big buttons—no jiggly icons, annoying finger swipes and no deleting apps from the screen by accident. Mum can now view her precious photos and FaceTime with the family without issue. It's well worth setting up.
