sharing eta of maps app is now sending texts?

I was sharing my eta with someone last Friday night from my Maps iPhone that was connected to my car but never tapped "end route". This morning I started my car and after I connected my iPhone to the car I saw the route was still active on the map so I tapped on "end route" but automatically the person that I was sharing the eta from the Maps app got a text at that moment that says "I will arrive at xxx around 10:31 AM. I’ll let you know if I’m running late.”

is this normal? Both iPhones are 13 pro max and I'm running the latest Os 17.2.1 and I shared my ETA from the Maps app. Any feedback would be appreciated.
