Samsung c1810w laser printer won't print in colour

I've tried downloading the drivers for my new Mac mini that uses Sonoma OS but there doesn't appear to be any available as the ones I down load don't work. It only allows a generic C1810 mode which is limited to B&W. This is exceedingly frustrating as it works on my old MAC.

I'm beginning to think buying the Mac mini was a mistake.

Any ideas as to how to fix this annoying issues.

Mac mini, macOS 14.2

Hi,

A Samsung Xpress C1810W is listed as a supported AirPrint model in About AirPrint - Apple Support. AirPrint is also mentioned for the C181xW series in the user's guide (https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05787199.pdf#G3.4886936).

An AirPrint printer should work without additional drivers, provided that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

Have you tried to use the printer with AirPrint?

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections. A printer with an Ethernet network interface could be wired to one of the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router instead of using a wireless connection. The C1810W seems to have both wireless and Ethernet, so you should be able to choose. Ethernet may be more stable, and would let you avoid some of the difficulties related to Wi-Fi. Wireless printing from a Mac (via the Wi-Fi router) would work anyway.

You're welcome! Glad to hear that it appears to work now with the Mac mini, and that you can print from an iPad.

If there is a future problem with AirPrint, you can always try a full power-cycle sequence (including the router): Power off the Wi-Fi router, the Samsung printer, the Mac mini, the iPad, and all other connected computers/devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac, the iPad, and all other computers/devices.
