'Encode Selected Video Files' and other actions no longer work

Hi all,

A few of the Automator shortcuts associated with QuickTime Player no longer work (Encode Media, Encode to MPEG Audio and Create Annotated Movie File).

When I right click and select one of the above options on the appropriate file, I am greeted with "Automator could not run the workflow because one or more actions were not loaded" every time.

Running the action through terminal shows "Loading script /System/Library/Automator/Encode Media.action/Contents/Resources/Encode_Media.scpt failed; error -2147450879"

If I open Automator and attempt to drag one of the above actions into the workflow window, nothing happens at all. I have tried rebooting in safe mode but I get the same errors.

I'm tearing my hair out a bit! This is a feature I use quite a lot to quickly resize, reformat and optimise high quality video files in my workflow. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
