how to stop sms messages from my iphone showing up on my mac

so in india we get a lot of spam messages via sms and they have suddenly started showing up on my mac aswell. i use the messages app for imessage but till now these spam messages didn't used to come but suddenly they have started to. i tried looking for a settings option for it but couldn't find it

Running: macos sonoma 14.2.1, iPhone is running 17.2.1

Automatic sms sending. Hello everyone. My iPhone 14 sent a hidden sms to apple servers through a local provider. Mobile operator said about this problem. Mobile operator support said that this sms sent with iMessage.Due to this I have an extra expenses. Can I turn off this function? And how? Thanks.
