AppleMail Logins

Looking for some advice on this: For a long time I've been logging into my Outlook email via AppleMail with a password from the password manager.


Now for some reason Applemail can no longer login to Outlook as it can't 'verify the password', yet if I copy and paste from a browser window to Outlook, the 'encrypted' password logs in perfectly fine.


Is there a reason the password doesn't work from applemail? How do I get applemail to login using the password it has? It says it can't verify but as far as I can work out, Outlook isn't blocking it.


So is the problem in the mail program or the password manager?


Any advice greatly received. Thanks.

Recently many users are having trouble with iPhone or iPad requesting the outlook exchange password, even though the correct password is registered. Seems to be different solutions. Me and others that have Outlook mail on the apple mail app as an Exchange account was able to solve the problem (so far) by deleting or deactivating the Exchange account, and then adding Outlook as an Outlook.com account on the apple mail app instead.

Thanks for your input Sup,

although since my accounts are 'Outlook', the problem of repeated password request doesn't relate to Microsoft Exchange, however it has now become an intermittent problem, where it will login sometimes, and then won't.


As a test, when I go to Mail > Accounts and click on any Outlook account, the immediate response from Applemail is that it 'cannot connect'. This is when it is already connected - so no need for the error message.


So I'm guessing the bug is more likely in the Mail app - esp. when the error message is false/incorrect (?).
