I've had a long standing issue with Apple in regards to a balance on my former apple card account

a long time ago.... i purchased an iPhone on line. THEN iinst the purchase and cancelled the order. Thats where the problem started. Apple "gave me" some apple credit $29nd change THEN i got a bill from the Apple Card services for ~$29 and change. At that time I was traveling abroad and I COULD NOT TRANSFER THE APPLE DOLLARS TO PAY FOR THE CARD BALANCE. Of course the balance went delinquent and i started getting emails and calls..... I did call a couple times and talked to people on line and asked for a manager to talk to and get this fixed. To this date NOTHING was ever done and EVERY TIME I talked to someone it was like starting over and Apple kept telling me to go back Goldman (the card company). Pay attention: I never bought ANYTHING. I never asked for this complicated mess. Apple gave me some credit that I'VE NEVER USED IT'S STILL IN THE APPLE ACCOUNT. I need this fixed. It's your doing not mine. I'm not jumping through hoops to fix Apples stupitiy.

So, here is what happened.

You purchased a $900 iPhone with Apple Card Mastercard.

You earned 3% in Daily Cash back. The 3% is $29 and it was paid into your Apple Cash account. Apple Cash is serviced by Green Dot Bank and the virtual card is in Apple Wallet.

When you returned/canceled the iPhone order, you were charged $29 on the Apple Card for the Daily Cash you earned.

Goldman Sachs has no means of getting the $29 unless you initiate the transfer. Likewise, Green Dot can’t transfer the funds unless you initiate the transfer.

You can talk to all the managers, but banks do not violate federal banking regulations.

Your choices moving forward are to make some phone calls and resolve the issue. Here’s the contact information for both organizations.

CONTACTING — Goldman Sachs Bank

  • Write to: Goldman Sachs Bank, Lockbox 6112, P.O. Box 7247, Philadelphia, PA 19170-6112.

Contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank by calling (877)-233-8552 or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE

Apple Support cannot resolve the issue. All they can do is tell you who to call.

Has the account gone to collection yet?

Yes, I appreciate the help. I spent about 45 minutes to an hour online with Goldman Sachs… finally transferred me to a supervisor who knew what they were doing and walked me through the whole process …..finally after over a year got the Apple Pay money to transfer to them hallelujah thanks for your help. I closed my account as I stated I have nothing to do with Apple anymore. I’ve already given my iphones away to family and I’m using the Chinese ones id mentioned-so again appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

That is the easiest way to go. But first a couple of questions.

Did you setup an Apple Cash account? If you’re not sure, call Green Dot directly. Ask if you have an Apple Cash account and if there is money in the account.

If they do, great. Setup a transfer to your bank or ask for a check. If they don’t, then Goldman Sachs has it. If GS has the funds, they may be able to apply the $29 to your debt.

If they do, but can’t apply it, then ask for a check. Then work with them to pay the debt and it’ll be resolved.

If you have questions after speaking to Green Dot and Goldman Sachs just post an update with additional information and we can figure it out.

Apple is not a bank and cannot tell Goldman Sachs how to conduct their corporate business.

Do you have a time frame for this? What is Apple Card Services? Did you use an Apple Card Mastercard issued by Goldman Sachs Bank for the purchase?

Thanks for the reply. Try to clarify since you asked. It was a year and a half ago. I bought an iPhone though Apple and used the Apple Card. I'd never used it before and it had zero balance. Was to ship in a couple weeks. Read more reviews on the phone decided to wait. Cancelled the order two days after ordering. It never shipped of course. Somehow I got a ~$29 charge on the Apple Card and then Apple gave me a separate ~$29 Apple Cash. I could not reconcile this. I did not want the Apple Cash and I wasn't going to pay the card separately and be forced to open $29 on Apple stuff. Made no sense but I was stuck in this Groundhog Day event ever since unexplained. I was on the apple site and was prompted to start a chat so I thought I could actually accomplish something. I'll just let this issue go back to the abyss. Trying to deal with Apple is truly a comedy routine. Though I've had iPhones for over 15 years this has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'll never buy Apple again. I'm sure the lemmings in the collective will say good riddance lol. However, I know there are a lot of people like me out there as well. I just returned from overseas and bought two top end Huawei's and they are great so far. The Borg can stick the spying etc. commentary where the sun doesn't shine. They ALL spy. Seems like a solid phone great camera and best of all I don't have to put up with Apple Omnipotence Syndrome anymore. Again thanks for the reply Jeff
