My iPhone 12 mini's battery drains too fast after iOS 17.3 update

Maybe solved.

After a forced reboot yesterday evening and a full charge in night, from this morning 7.00 am to now 10.30 am, with normal usage of (for me), battery is at 77% of charge. More or less a normal drain. Yesterday at this time battery was 35/40% in constant decreasing.

Here also a bad experience with the battery of my iPhone 13 with 100% battery health. I'm going to sleep 12pm with 100% battery and when I wake up at 8am it's at 92%. Before in this same situation I woke up with at least 98% often it is still at 100%. I was able to see now in iOS 17.3 that at night without any use what consumes the most energy by the graph is the "find my". Would he be the great villain of battery consumption?

14 pro max here. Had great battery performance. I never charge my phone while i sleep. When i went to sleep i had 31% battery and in the morning it was shut down. It s second time when this happens, usually i would go with even 7-8% to sleep and in the morning i would have 3-4%. My gf has 12 mini and her battery life is worse too after the update. The problem with this update is the off screen consumption for sure. Hope they fix it pretty fast

I am facing the same issues, normally I’d finish my day at 5pm with over 40% battery on my 14 Pro Max like today I’ve only gotten 6.5 hours on & I’m at 28%

Apple definitely needs to implement a fix soon.

I have an iPhone 15 pro and I’m very picky about battery life. I don’t use my phone much, my screen on time average is 1:30 to 2 hrs a day, and I’d get 46 to 48 hrs going from 80% to 15% before iOS 17.3. Now, after updating and using it the same way It goes from 80% to 15% in 25 hours, so basically half the battery life with the same use.

Apple updates just get worse. iPhone 15Pro drains to 20 % in about 14 hours. Just awful. About 1/2 the performance before updating to 17.3. Seriously starting to feel like I am back to using Windows products that fail on basic functions….

I have an iphone 14. Same issue, my iphone never went down to 30% or less in the same day. I am having to charge it every night or morning now. What gives, Apple? When I first got it I would brag that it would go 2-3 days on one full charge. Not anymore. =(

Absolutely the same experienced as the OP on my personal iPhone 12 mini. But have the same effect too on my work phone which is a big iPhone 12 which has always had a much better battery.

My contract is up soon so I’ll definitely be looking at the market for better battery. It’s such a waste of time and natural resources to kill these phones so quickly.

Same issue here after updating to 17.3, that is why I found this thread. I am using an iPhone 15 pro and usually at the end of the day I get approx around 40% to 45% left (fully charged from 7:30 till I get off at work from 3:30p.m.) but now, I get like approx 25% to 20% battery left after work..

As with everyone my iPhone 14 Pro experience with update 17.2 was so much worse, very poor battery life - battery barely lasted 3/4 of the day, and the phone was always hot, during use and when charging was worse before the 17.3 updates, however, the battery is much better and lasts all day, the back of the phone remains cold during use and charging.

I have iphone 15 pro and battery drains really fast, even during night when i have everything turn off. Wifi, bluetooth, "cellular data", hot spot,... everything is turn off and from 76% went to 35%, it´s almost impossible to use it...

my iphone 15 plus has same issue after the ios 17.3 update. the battery drains 5-7 % overnight i dont know what sort of sorcery is that. i dont use the phone and it drains that much battery. in settings battery it shows home &lock screen usages. i had 13 pro max on ios 17.2 and the battery life was so much great than this new 15 plus.. i bought it few days back thats why i couldn’t got the 17.2 update insted i got 17.3 as they released this update and removed 17.2 and because of the heating issue that iphone 15 series had after launching i upgraded the phone now i REGRET doing so.. wish i got the 17.2 update.. i have tried upgrading the phone from pc and then hard rebooting and turning off many features.. i spend this much money and can’t even use the phone without worrying.. apple is dying i think. each new updates brings new problems so apple is problem lol.. now they are working on 17.4 i think they will not fix the battery issue until 17.5 lol what a shame.. I WILL NEVER UPGRADE MY PHONE EVER AGAIN WHEN I GET AN BATTERY OPTIMIZED UPDATE. and then no updates will be made in my phone

Same issue experincing on iPhone 12. After the update to 17.3.1 I am seeing worst battery performance. Also battery health is deterioratimg quickly. Before the update, battery health was at 85%, now with only couple of days with update I’m at 79% battery health… please advise on this.

This always happens to me eventually no matter which iPhone model I get… eventually, I update my phone and the battery suddenly drains so quickly. Apple just wants your money so you have to buy a new phone. Kind of a scam… thinking of switching to an Android.

Safari is draining my battery. Deactivated lots of the useless stuff which apple is doing in background but no change. Hopefully I can get rid of these stupid apple apps with ios 17.4! I sometimes also have the feeling apple drains the battery of older iphones (14pro) on purpose to increase iphone sales. It seems as if ios is get even worse with each update.
