I've been struggling with my external keyboard lately.
While coding I have noticed that my keyboard types ^ instead of less than, which is really making coding a living **** right now.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

With a non-standard keyboard like that it is hard to know whether any normal fixes will work. You could try to make a custom input source with

Did you check the input source to make sure you have the keyboard layout you think you should?
I don't know what layout would swap those keys and still look normal to you with everything else.

What does the key to the left of Y type?
Well, the keyboard uses German as the Input Source, and under "Edit/German" it also shows that ^ should actually be "Less Than". I tried using the "Change Keyboard Type" feature, however that said "Your keyboard cannot be identified."
Aside from the ^ issue, everything else seems to be working as it should.
What happens when you press the key outlined in red below?

Oh, I think it might be another important step to clarify, I'm not using an Apple Keyboard. I'm using a 60% Keyboard by ISY. The key under ESC is tab, ESC has the capability of typing ^ and °. I just remembered that.
So, ESC now writes <> instead of ^ °.
Can I remap that somehow?

Exactly what kind of keyboard is this? Is there no normal letter key next to the 1 key? Tab should not be under ESC, but one row further down. Please post a photo if you really have TAB under ESC.
If it isn’t recognizing the keyboard, that might be the problem, but I don’t know how to fix it.
The key under ESC is tab, so it tabs.
The key to the left of Y is the greater/less than key. So, it should be writing greater/less than - However, as I said, it types ^ instead.
