Automation to screenshot picture from "Photos"

Hey Guys,

first time here. I have a problem with wich not even the tech-support of apple could help me with.

I have about 1.700 pictures in my photos app on my mac and can not export them because it says download not possible. Whatever I do I can not export them. So the only solution is - at least as the support says - is to take a screenshot of each photo. I am ok with that as long as I can safe them.

Do you know how I could automate this workflow? I need to take a screenshot of a photo and then go to the next one. If possible I would like that only the photo is screenshotted and nothing else (so you don't see the window).

You know any solution? Would be grateful for help. Thank you!

Double click on the Originals Library that you made earlier; then open it, empty, in Photos. Then drag that Package>Originals folder to Photos so that all the pictures in it will open in Photos. It's possible some of the original copies of your missing pictures are in there. Or maybe not.

So this didn't worked out for me. Maybe I made a mistake. Its worth a try but the location was empty for me.

Then open Package>Resources and do the same thing, dragging the Package>Resources>Derivatives folder into the Derivatives Library. That's where preview and thumbnails are kept, so you should see the pictures you want, though not full resolution. There may be files in there that are better than screenshots.

Maybe try this, instead: 1st, make a backup of the Library. It's essential that you have a backup!

Then create two new Libraries (close Photos, then option-click on the Photos icon), and name one Originals (Originals.photoslibrary) and the other Derivatives. Then comes the surgery. Open up a Library.

Command-click on the offending library (not the backup!) and get a menu that includes "Show Package Contents." This is usually a no-no, but since you have a backup, we can go ahead. There's a folder inside called Originals.

Double click on the Originals Library that you made earlier; then open it, empty, in Photos. Then drag that Package>Originals folder to Photos so that all the pictures in it will open in Photos. It's possible some of the original copies of your missing pictures are in there. Or maybe not.

Then open Package>Resources and do the same thing, dragging the Package>Resources>Derivatives folder into the new Derivatives Library. That's where preview and thumbnails are kept, so you should see the pictures you want, though not with full resolution. There may be files in there that are better than screenshots.

This has allowed people to recover their photos-- probably everything you can get by doing screenshots. The file names, and probably dates, may not make any sense, but the pictures may be pretty good.

If not, you still have the backup! Let us know how it goes....
