Apple Mail: Searches are not returning results of emails that exist

The results return nothing when searching Apple Mail Version 16.0 (3731.700.6). I have tested this with a range of 1 through several hundred emails that I would expect to yield a return. Even when I select a SINGLE email address, there are no results. In addition, smart mailboxes are no longer capturing emails. The ones it does capture are not de-notified. The notification remains. I have tried shutting down my iMac and rebooting, but no change in status. This issue started happening as of 01/24/2024 on my iMac Ventura OSX Version 13.6.3 (22G436). My desktop IS NOT eligible for an upgrade to Sonoma.

The issue does not occur on my MacBook Air (Sonoma 14.2.1)

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 13.6
