Here is a clear answer:
Browsers never find links. The search engine that YOU have chosen to use in a browser finds links.
In Safari: Click on Safari in the top bar, then Settings, then Search and choose your preferred search engine from the dropdown
In Firefox: Click on Firefox in the top bar, then Settings, then Search, then Default search engine and choose your preferred search engine from the dropdown.
HINT: DuckDuckGo is the only search engine that does not track and sell your search history.

Considering I use ad blockers and rarely see any ads that would interest me, Google must be doing a poor job of targeting me. :)
