Out of the blue suddenly my iPhone has a constant pop up stating PW Incorrect and requesting that I enter the pw for the Exchange account "Exchange" . I have used these hotmails for years and have not changed anything. How do I get rid of it please `? My current hotmail pw does not seem to be acceptable !

Probably because your hotmail account is not the Exchange account the message is referring to…
Go to Settings>Mail>Accounts.
I’ll be you will see more than one account. One being your Hotmail account, and another called “Exchange”. Possibly a work or school account.

Thanks to all that responded. The answer was simple after all.
Open up the hotmail website whichever helpfully took me through the action necessary
to change my password. (Even though I had no idea why I should!)
The instructions were good , I changed the password and the message is no longer appearing .

Report the issue to hotmail support. Apple has no clue what your credentials are only hotmail does.
