I think you mean Standby Mode --> Use StandBy to view information at a distance while iPhone is charging - Apple Support

For the most part it was designed for iPhone's with an Always on Display, which means iPhone 14 Pro or 15 Pro models. But Standby Mode can be used on older iPhones, but the display will not stay on continuously.
