The display of iPhone 15 Pro Max has yellow tint/cast

Hi, please let me know your thoughts, experience with the same issue if possible.

I have a new iPhone 15 Pro Max. The display has yellow tint/cast compare to my previous iPhone 11 and other devices. I am editing pictures on my iMac and always my pictures looked pretty much same on iMac and iphone. But now 15 pro max does not show pure white color anymore no matter I have everything off like True tone, Night shift. I have been in Apple store, compared my phone to others 15 Pro Max models and noticed also a big difference - my one has yellow tint on the display with the same settings. I am just about to exchange the phone in the store where I bought it but I am a bit worried it might be the same. In the Apple store I have been told everything is ok with the phone but it is probably because they have three different manufactures. I am very dissapointed. I always thought any model you buy it will be exactly same. After some research I found it is not truth.

Hey there,

It’s not defective or anything, it’s perfectly normally as apple sources its displays from two suppliers which are Samsung and LG! The Samsung displays are white with a little blue tint in it while the LG has a little yellow tint to it.

I am facing this problem, as I bought the device from the first day it was released and it had a great screen. I bought another device in February and it had a faded yellow screen. After researching, I learned that Apple uses two types of screens: the first type, which is good, from Samsung, and the second type, which is yellow and faded, from LG, which is...

Probably you have turned on Night Shift

  • Open Control Center. Firmly press the Brightness control icon, then tap to turn Night Shift on or off.
  • Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift. 2 On the same screen, you can schedule a time for Night Shift to turn on automatically and adjust color temperature.

Same issue on my iPhone 14 plus. Tweaking with the accessibility settings to change the hue/tint has not helped much. Definitely a byproduct of poorer OLED quality process and it looks like Apple allows it. Most people don't seem to care much or don't notice it but it spoils all the colors of the display. My iPad pro has far superior overall color when compared to this - so much so it is a downgrade for me. For the iPhone 15 pro max flagship, it seems unfair.
