I can charge it before going to sleep and the next morning the thing is 100% but pretty hot.
This issue started to happen to me after updating to ipad os 17.3. I blame the OS but also could be a coincidence with my ipad battery being old.
Anybody has this issue too?

Also, right after an update, the iPad has to do a bunch of background tasks. So, for 24-48 hours, you may see less battery life and the iPad getting warmer.
And, yes, if your battery is old, that could be part of the problem. Keep an eye on your iPad for any signs of swelling. If you see that, unplug it, turn it off and arrange to have it serviced.

Well i performed a clean ios 17.3 install an problem solved apparently there was a bug when upgrading ios 17.2-17.3 sigh.
Not while charging, i clearly stated after reaching 100% many hours after.
I didn't say a clean install here either. Just an update from 17.2 to 17.3.
What i want to know if i´m alone with this issue before downgrading to 17.2
yes it is, i mean not officialy but if you know what you are doing... 17.2 still signed btw but before doing that i wil wait for other opinions thanks.
You know what it is not bearable anymore the cr@appy itunes for windows making slow my system and freezing, that is definitely not supported for me.
