If I delete my iMessage photo & video attachments that I’ve taken will the attachments be deleted permanently from my iPhone storage that I pay for?

I’m unable to do a software update bc it says I need more storage but I’m hesitant to delete all my video & photo attachments I’ve sent my daughter bc I don’t want the photos to delete permanently. So, my question is: if I delete videos or photos I’ve taken & sent to my daughter as an iMessage attachment will those attachments be deleted permanently out of my phone and/or ICloud storage?

Yes, any photos deleted from your phone will be deleted from the cloud as well. iCloud is not permanent storage, it is a syncing service.

Try updating using a computer, it requires less space on your phone than doing it wirelessly.

Thank you so much for your response. I had started deleting the attachments last night thinking it wouldn’t delete the original photo and I got panicked like omg, am I deleting videos & photos that I’ve taken of my 2 new grand-babies that in the past 2 years. So I searched for the answer online but there wasn’t really an exact answer to my question about just deleting the attachments I’ve sent them as an iMessage attachment to my daughter of her babies.

So, my next question is, how can save those photos so I’ll never lose them? If I save them to my iMac isn’t that the same storage issue as my iPhone? Like if save them to the computer to clear the storage out on my phone won’t they still delete of my computer once i delete the attachments?
