I changed my google password yesterday and since that point I can't sign into my email on my iMac. I input the new password and it puts up an error message "400. That's an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be tried again. That's all we know." I can sign onto my email on both iPhones and iPad with the new password, just not my iMac.

I turned off Enhanced Safe Browsing for Google and tried again, but the window that automatically is generated while attempting to sign in to Apple Email with Google as my email account provider always opens with that Private Browser box.
To turn off the Enhanced Safe Browser in Google, I had to sign into my Google account and it had no problem allowing that, just opening email with google as the provider.
At this point, I must admit I'm thoroughly confused. Google is an email provider for Gmail, not Apple mail. So I've been assuming you're using a web browser to get your Google email?
It sounds as if you have two email accounts: (1) Google email account, and (2) Apple email account (likely an iCloud account).
If the above is true, then you should have the Apple Mail app (the icon in your taskbar that looks like an envelope) set up with 2 accounts...one for Google mail, and the other for Apple email. Once the Apple Mail app is set up with those two accounts, you'll be able to get both your Google mail and Apple mail with the same app, and no need to use a web browser.
I resolved the issue with the help of Apple, we finally changed the default web browser to Chrome and once we did that I could sign into the Apple email with Google as the provider. Not sure why it wouldn't let that happen with Safari, but at least it's fixed now.

Have you tried deleting your Gmail account in Apple Mail, then adding it back in?
I notice in the screen shot you have Private Browsing turned on. Have you tried quitting the Private browser and accessing Google Mail via the standard browser?
Can you provide a screenshot or photo of the screen where it's displaying the error message?

I have this same issue. Before trying to change my google password I was able to connect Google mail with Apple Mail and use Apple mail to send and receive Gmail. I loved it and now the 400 message pictured above keeps me from reconnecting Gmail to Apple mail. How do you change from private browsing to standard browsing and does it help? I do not want to install Chrome on my Apple MacBook Pro or my desktop MAC.
Yes, I did that yesterday, it still does not allow me to set Google as my email account provider with the new password.
