iPhone defaults to playing music alphabetically

After the recent iOS updates I’ve noticed that anytime I plug my phone in put in my AirPods or play music it automatically plays in alphabetical order. No matter how I change it to play random the next time it defaults back to alphabetical. Not Apple Music but the music I have put on my phone. This isn’t a car manufacturer issue as It didn’t use to do this. I used to be able to select random in the phone music app and it would stay random until I changed it.
