Markup cross device (Macbook - Ipad w. Pen) randomly working

Hey there,

so there is this exciting feature that very often helps me a lot - it is having the markup tool in the preview app on Macbook automatically forwarding the preview to the ipads screen and you can just use apple pen to do stuff. This is soo convenient, but unfortunately that feauture seems to be only working at random times. And I couldnt find out (with a lot of googling already) what the problem is.

Why is there no manual control or configuration to activate that feature : (

Anybody has the same issue or even a solution to that functionality?

I found the solution!

There are 2 different "previews".

One is the "Preview" App - which doesnt allow cross device marking from Macbook to Ipad.

The other on is "Quick Look", which you find in your context menu (left click on picture, or when doing a screenshot, opening it from the corner of the screen) -> here you can use cross device marking.

I hope in the future someone is looking desperately for this answer - though I hope more Apple will make this cross decvice markup available for Preview as well : )

Thank you to point it out. I use it randomly and can't figure out why it sometimes works, sometimes not. Then no time to find out why.

@Apple team: please make it consistenly!!!
