Preview external page turn command doesn't work in iPadOS 26

I play in a band and use my iPad on some songs to display chord sheets. I'd set up a switch to send an "Arrow Down" command that would turn the pages, which worked fine in the old Files app, but with the upgrade to iPadOS 26, it's now calling up the Preview app, and that command only works if the sidebar is showing, which isn't optimal since it shrinks the display of the file (and my eyes are old).

Does anyone know of a workaround to this?

Presumably you are viewing a PDF or similar.

iPadOS 26 now defaults to using the new Preview App - instead of using Quick View. You can reconfigure your iPad to use Quick View from the Files App...

Navigate to the folder where your file is saved - then touch-and-hold the file to expose the Action Menu. From the menu, select Open With - then select Quick View.

Now a opening a PDF will open Quick View instead of Preview. You can use this same process with other file-types, opening the file in your preferred installed App.
