Rename Apple TV 4K

I rename the Apple TV 4K (Settings/General/About/Name)

I put in living room and when it returns to About it has a (2) after living room. Why does it add a number?

How can I change the name of my Apple TV ? I have several devices including an Apple TV 4K on an Apple Home network. When I added the Apple TV it has given itself the name of the room where it's located i.e Den (2). "Den" is the name of the HomePod mini in that room so I wish to change it's name to reduce confusion. When I go to the Apple TV settings (Settings → General → About → Name) and change the name to "Apple TV" — it does not remember the change. Restarting the Apple TV does not make a difference. I have confirmed all of my devices are on my home network. Does anyone understand this problem.

Apple TV coming up as Living Room Hi, My Apple TV has renamed itself as “Living Room”. Does this happen by default or should I be worried? Thank you!

Apple TV has both a device name and a room designation. Living Room would be one of the standard room names to choose from. Possibly the “(2)” is added to differentiate from the same name already being used elsewhere.
