iPhone 15 Pro overheating after iOS update to 17.3

Hello,

Anybody who's experiencing as well these issues I'm encountering after updating my Iphone 15 pro IOS version to 17.3?

  • My Iphone becomes hot
  • Battery drains so fast
  • camera flash and flash lights are disable due to phone temperature

I already turned off "Background App Refresh" and on "Low power mode" but still I have these issues. Before my phone works normal, this only happened after I update IOS version to 17.3

Other recommendations to address this issue?

Thanks,

After this iOS 17 update I have been experiencing cellular network issues, iMessages not going through or being received, call drops and missed calls. Any recommendations?

Got a new iPhone 15 Pro in November. Two weeks ago, syncing it on my Mac, I saw an update was available. Clicked on the download now button and saw my phone screen go black before an image of a cable plugging into a terminal appeared and I was told "restore" was necessary. Tried to restore. Phone disappeared from Finder. Tried several times. Nothing. Took phone to Verizon who said "hardware problem" and sent a new phone. Three days later, assuming new phone didn't have the hardware problem, I tried again. Phone again became completely useless, unresponsive to Mac and attempts to restore. Now on third phone since November. I do not trust 17.3. It killed my phones twice. Sorry I didn't keep my 11 Pro Max.

I have an iPhone 13 and I'm not sure if it's post the latest update, but the problems I am having are rendering my iPhone as almost useless.

I am having issues with phone calls connecting/reception issues, sms/iMessages not sending sending, and wifi connectivity, to name a few.

It is literally draining my phone credit as I have had to resort to using data roaming, even when at home where I have 300mbs fibre broadband.

My iPhone also overheats quickly and I'm having to charge my iPhone at least twice a day.

I have just tried to send a 3 minute video on WhatsApp and it has taken almost one hour to download about 10%.

Apple, this is not acceptable.

I had the same issues. The resolution was, to reset completely and restore from backup. Just ensure everything is backed up to iCloud. If you are using Signal, you have to transfer the Signal stuff to another iPhone BEFORE the restore, but NOT to an iPad. Then after restore of the iPhone, transfer back the Signal account. Unfortunately, I‘ve lost all Signal chats when I restored my iPhone as Signal doesn’t backup anything to the iCloud!! So, Signal is actually a nogo, but it is used widely on iPhones. I was really ****** off with Signal, and still I am.

I am having so many issues since the iPhone 17 update. Silly things like :

even if I’ve closed down all my apps (which I do) when I tap on contacts or messages, it’s it shows me the lady message or person that I looked at. There are so many other little annoying things going on snd just want things back the way they were working before Apple decided to change everything.

I have same issue with iphone 13 pro, but i have only noticed it when 17.3 update dropped out. That was right away noticeably. I use my phone mainly for work, but now at 10am i have to look for a charger and even if i find one, it doesn’t matter because it won’t charge as it is too hot. Basically runs hot any task given. Got hot today whilst typing a report. Awesome 😡

I contacted my cellular provider as apple suport told me to do also and they did some update on their end and told me to reset phone when I turned it back on my phone was erased and is now locked so I cannot even redownload my information. This update really did a number on phone and cell phone companies are being told it’s on their end but don’t let them update your cellular data make things worse.

I've been having major issues with my iPhone 12 Mini since the 17.3.1 update. Phone randomly shuts off (when the battery is at or near full charge - battery health puts the battery at 99% of new capacity), and sometimes won't reboot unless connected to charger. Uses cellular data only, refusing to use wifi, even when on strong wifi. Outgoing SMS messages are always "failed to send" - progress bar gets to about 90% then fails (incoming messages are no problem, though). Constant use of data roaming (despite turning everything off to try to stop this) goes through several gigs a day, resulting in data plan being exhausted almost immediately. Phone sometimes gets hot, and goes through 90% of battery in 5-10 minutes. Other times battery lasts for a day or more.

At one point it insisted that I had incorrectly entered my password several times & made me wait for 30 minutes. Strangely, the phone had been sitting face down on the coffee table for 2 days...and I'm on facial recognition for opening the phone. On another occasion, it insisted the phone could not be used because there was water in the charging port...again, having been sitting indoors, on the coffee table, high & dry, in low humidity.

There are many other weird issues as well, randomly coming and going.

At this point, it is occasionally usable as a phone, but nothing more.

I sure hope Apple comes up with a fix. My plan is to do a backup & restore to my PC computer using iTunes...if it will work. At this point I don't trust it as I tried this a few days ago, got to 98% of completion, and iTunes suddenly declared that the Apple website it uses was no longer available.

My wife has an iPhone SE 2nd gen and her phone was purposely set to not auto update and had not even been updated to iOS 17. Then a few days ago her phone updated over night to the latest iOS. Now her iCloud is greyed out and she lost all her iCloud in for like photos contacts ect. And her battery has a severe degradation warning. Apple literally just got sued for this and it appears they’re doing it again. How on earth can we not even access iCloud

I doubt it. Not a word from Apple so far, despite what appears to be the most problem-plagued IOS update ever. My phone has been completely unusable since the update. I put it in a drawer & had to buy another phone, despite only having bought my wrecked one only few months ago.

Seems like Apple just hopes we'll all just go away.

After the new iOS 17 update, I’ve been experiencing cellular network issues too. I called my provider (Verizon, and they said the update damaged my phone internally. After resetting my network setting and eSIM a couple times and still no signal. the final option was to bring my phone to a local Verizon and if they can’t fix it in store, then they will just send me a replacement.

I have the 14 pro, I’m not sure if that’s why. However, my husband has the 13 and he updated his phone and hasn’t had an issue.
