iPhone 15 Pro overheating after iOS update to 17.3

Hello,

Anybody who's experiencing as well these issues I'm encountering after updating my Iphone 15 pro IOS version to 17.3?

  • My Iphone becomes hot
  • Battery drains so fast
  • camera flash and flash lights are disable due to phone temperature

I already turned off "Background App Refresh" and on "Low power mode" but still I have these issues. Before my phone works normal, this only happened after I update IOS version to 17.3

Other recommendations to address this issue?

Thanks,

After this iOS 17 update I have been experiencing cellular network issues, iMessages not going through or being received, call drops and missed calls. Any recommendations?

This 17.3 update caused my iphone 13 to be completely unusable! Battery hot, no reaction, not even able to reboot. Had to wait until battery was empty. The iphone is still slow and does not behave like before the update. Apple, why do you deliver such extraordinary bad quality? I‘m p….d off with Apple quality and how you as a company communicate and treat your customers.

Heating has nothing to do with an iOS version.

iTunes said it was restoring to factory settings, but if it did so to clear the device, it then went on to restore it from my computer with the local backup. The apps seemed to take about an hour to fully reload. Most of the data was restored. The only "loss" was the recently used contacts that show in my share options for websites, and the "commonly used" websites. AFAIK, no contact losses based on perusing known recent additions.

So it did do the full restore without any additional help from me. *breathes huge sigh of relief*. My wife who has an Android phone was saying this should be a good reason to abandon Apple. I would but for a large curated iTunes library that, so far, I have not found a way to port to Windows so that an Android device can use it seamlessly. [But if/when that happens...]

So I have an iPhone X and out of nowhere today it started to go crazy with delayed screen touch and apps not working. Then it started to go to a black reboot screen and got extremely hot. Also wouldn’t charge and at one point went from 50% battery to zero and shut off and back on really fast with 30% battery. So long story made short, I turned off wifi and took out the SIM card. Then I was able to turn phone off and back on, waited about ten minutes, put SIM card back in and turned it on, then did a reset on everything. Now it works better than ever. Down side is you have to re log into apps and bank stuff, took me about 2 1/2 hours but in my opinion, worth it. But time will tell if I’m out of the woods, I wish you the best of luck.

📱Facing iPhone heating issues? Here's what worked for me on my iPhone 12 Pro:

1️⃣ Backup on iCloud/iTunes

2️⃣ Log out of Apple ID

3️⃣ Erase (Keep eSIM Data)

❌ DO NOT restore from backups! Set up as new iPhone. Wait 2-3 days - no issue! That Indicates...

✅ No hardware/ iOS issue

Now...

📦 Restore data gradually

My experience says this is purely caused by some third-party app that you may have installed.

I am not aware of the ambient temperature in which you are using the iPhone. However --> Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable ...

Store the device where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.

Use iOS devices where the ambient temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low- or high-temperature conditions might cause the device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature. Using an iOS device in very cold conditions outside of its operating range might temporarily shorten battery life and could cause the device to turn off. Battery life will return to normal when you bring the device back to higher ambient temperatures. Using an iOS device in very hot conditions can permanently shorten battery life.

Restart the phone.

If that doesn't resolve it, Reset All Settings. The link below tells you what that resets. It will not delete your apps or data within apps, as it doesn't erase the phone. It will remove your saved Wi-Fi connections, so make sure you know your Wi-Fi password to reconnect.

Have you added a third-party keyboard or any VPN apps?

Ever since this update my phone has to be charged at least three times a day and at night without optimized charging I still only charge to about 50-86 percent. I turned it off and back on, I shut all open apps down and I even tried lower mode which while charging made it even worse!!! It would only charge to about 30 percent, I tried wireless charging as well but nothing is working, this new update has slowed my phone down incredibly like it’s in VPN mode or if it’s running a background hidden app
